Dr. Grace is a 1961 graduate from LABI. Her varied ministry experiences include co-pastoring and planting new churches in Northern and Southern California, New York and in Puerto Rico. In 1981, she returned to LABI as an associate professor and in 1982, was hired as the first female to serve as the Academic Dean of LABI.
In 1976, Dr. Grace felt the need to expand her education in order to minister to the secular business world and returned to college an earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Masters of Arts in Educational Counseling from Cal State University, San Bernardino and a Doctor of Philosophy in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Grace’s career in non-profit consulting started in 1995 and continues to the present. She is the Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Scott Consulting Services, Inc. a bilingual consulting agency that provides management services and training to nonprofit corporations and faith-based organizations in various fields of service. From 2009 to 2010, Dr. Grace was instrumental in leading the Strategic Planning Committee in the Restructuring of LABI/LATS and from 2010 to 2014, served as the Consultant and Facilitator for the SPD Strategic Planning Committee in the restructuring of the Southern Pacific District’s administration and programs. Most recently, Dr. Grace established The Purple Hat Society, Inc. a non-denominational organization to serve the spiritual, social, educational and physical needs of women in ministry.
As an educator, Dr. Grace taught at Victor Valley Community College; Cal State University, San Bernardino and at Biola University, and has trained corporations at the local, state, national and international levels. As a community activist, she has received numerous honorable recognitions from elected officials for her work with marginalized persons in LA County. In 1991 and in 1996, she was the first bi-racial female to be inducted in the Alumnus Hall of Fame at Victor Valley Community College and at Cal State University, San Bernardino for her educational achievements. In 2011, Dr. Grace was awarded the first ever LABI Alumni Legacy Award from LABI College.
Dr. Grace presently serves as the Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees.
