REQUIRED COURSES:

1) Four courses in Theology. Two (3) unit courses must be on a doctrine and two (3) unit courses must be on historical or current/modern theological issues.
2) Six courses in Bible. Two (3) unit courses must be Old Testament and not within the same genera of literature.  Two (3) unit courses must be New Testament and not within the same genera of literature. This means that a student can take a course on the Pentateuch and a Prophetic book but not two consecutive courses within the Prophets or Pentateuch.  Additionally, the student must take one (4) unit language course, whether Greek or Hebrew, and one (4) unit exegesis course on a book of the same language.
3) Nine courses in Ministry.  The student has the option of choosing five (3) unit courses from the following fields.  Missions & Intercultural Studies, Evangelism & Outreach, Leadership, Pastoral Ministry. The student also must enroll in at least four (1) unit Ministry Internship course every semester of residency.
4) Four or Three Electives.  If the student is on the Pastoral Track, the student is required to take four (3) unit electives in any field or discipline.  If the student is on the Graduate Track, the student is required to take three (3) unit electives in any field or discipline and complete a (3) unit thesis.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PASTORAL TRACK

1) Twenty three courses plus any pre-requisite course needed.
2) Biblical institute diploma or university degree unless the student is a senior pastor in which 45 units is awarded for 5 years of ministerial experience.
3) The maintenance of a cumulative grade point average of 2.0
4) Completion of all requirements for the degree.

REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATE TRACK

1) Twenty three courses plus any pre-requisite course needed.
2) Biblical institute diploma or university degree unless the student is a senior pastor in which 45 units is awarded for 5 years of ministerial experience.
3) A submission of a 20-25 page thesis that is well researched and clearly written. This paper may build upon an exegetical paper done in a previous class or a topic that of the student’s interest.  Students will be enrolled for a thesis course instead of an elective. The writing is normally done in the final semester of the program. A thesis proposal will be required at registration, the preliminary draft will be due three quarters through the semester, and the final draft will be due no later than noon on the last day of the semester which the student will graduate.  Thesis proposal forms are available in the Academic Building.
4) The maintenance of a cumulative grade point average of 3.0
5) Completion of all requirements for the degree.

Th.B. PROGRAM ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

In every course taken students are expected to do the following course work:1) Read five hundred pages of related course material. The faculty is free to require proof of reading by asking for two-page book reports or a reading log. Failure to fulfill reading assignments will result in the reduction of the final grade.
2) Write a ten to twelve page research paper that conforms in form and content to the policies found in the LATS writing manual. Research papers that do not conform to the LATS writing policies will not be accepted and will not receive a grade. If a student does not receive a grade for a research paper he or she risks failing the course.
3) Take a mid-term and a final exam. Some courses may not require exams. In such cases additional course work equivalent to taking a mid-term and a final exam must be given by the faculty and approved by the seminary.
