labi college | fall 2020 plan
A Message from the President
Dear LABI Community,
This year, we have made some great progress with many aspects of our college. In February, we received national accreditation from the Association of Biblical Higher Education (ABHE). Just recently, LABI College has also been approved for Federal Financial Aid (participation in Title IV programs). This is the first time in LABI College’s history that we received accreditation and Financial Aid. LABI College is also recognized and approved by the State of California to offer its academic programming. Despite these successes, however, difficult challenges have been faced as we respond to the current COVID-19 crisis. It is with this regard, that we are moving in love and care for you all as we plan to assure the safety of our students, staff, and faculty.
With this in mind, we share with you LABI College's COVID-19 Response Plan. For the upcoming fall semester, we plan to offer instruction fully online. Once the current local county and state guidelines allow it, we will once again open our campus to give the opportunity for our students to experience LABI through Chapel, dining, and student life experiences consistent with our mission by also keeping the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and faculty at the forefront. This is why LABI College has developed a COVID-19 Response Taskforce within the last couple of months that includes the Directors and Administrators of our Human Resources, Business and Finance, Student Life, Admissions, Marketing, Spiritual Life, and Academic departments. This team has carefully and methodically outlined “best practice” strategies to cultivate the safest possible environment for the whole LABI community as we plan for this fall and beyond. We have also engaged several board members with aspects of this plan.
Please note that we are also conscious of the reality that our plans, as well thought out as they are, may change. These changes can include directives and guidelines from the county, state, or federal officials that may have us modify, replace, or even eliminate certain aspects of our services to make sure we are compliant and again providing the safest possible environment for the LABI community. For specific questions, please reach out directly to me or to the members of our COVID-19 Response Taskforce.
Dr. Marty Harris
