Location: 14209 E. Lomitas Ave. La Puente, CA 91746

LABI College will host its 95th commencement at our LABI College campus this year, modified and limited due to the pandemic. Attendance is limited and all attendees will have to register and complete a pre-screening form. Graduates will be allowed up to 3 guests from the same household, and we will provide a live stream for those that cannot attend due to the COVID-19 guidelines. California guidelines for graduation events can be found at the following link: California Public Health

Commencement will be lived stream for all those not able to attend at the following link: labi.edu/graduation

Graduates should plan to meet by classroom 5 by 9:30am. We will be taking individual pictures of graduates with their cap and gowns. If a graduate has not yet picked up their cap and gown from the Academic Office, please plan to do so before 9:30am by emailing Yvette Robles at yrobles@labi.edu. At 9:50am, after the pictures are taken, graduates will line up behind the library for the processional march at the start of the program.

The commencement will be outdoors and safety protocols for COVID-19 will be followed. Please read through the guidelines below.

General Guidelines and Rules for Commencement

Attendee Group Size & Definition

  • According to local guidelines and regulations, attendee groups for each graduate can only be limited to a household unit. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health defines a household unit as a group of people who live together in a single dwelling like a house or apartment.

    • For example, if your older sibling no longer lives with your parent(s), he/she is not considered to be a part of the same household unit as your parent(s).

  • Given the amount of space available to accommodate an attendee group for each graduate while maintaining social distancing guidelines, each graduate will only be able to have one (1) attendee group of up to three (3) guests that should all be from the same household unit.

  • If one of your guests does not live in the same household with your other guests, no seating will be available for them in order to accommodate the rest of the graduates’ attendee groups.

    • Commencement will be live streamed for guests you are unable to invite.

Control Measures & Screening

  • All attendees will be asked to complete a health screen for fever and COVID-19 symptoms prior to the ceremony online. If guests find themselves feeling ill, having symptoms of COVID-19, or have potentially been exposed to someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19, they should not attend the event.

  • All attendees must wear masks as per CDPH Face Coverings Guidance and maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from other attendees at all times, other than with household members.

  • All attendees must register in advance for graduation. This means only guests mentioned on your registration form will be allowed to attend.

  • Attendee groups must remain in their designated marked seating area in order to maintain social distancing.

  • Individuals vulnerable to COVID-19 (example: age and/or underlying health conditions) should not be encouraged to attend.

  • Individuals who are sick, in isolation, or in quarantine must remain at home.

  • Out of State students will need to follow LA County guidelines for out of state visitors, which includes 10-day mandatory self-quarantine. (See: LA County Public Health Travel Advisory)

We understand that this may cause difficulty in the choosing of your guests, but we kindly ask that you please be comprehensive as we ask you to help us adhere to the regulations and guidelines that have been set for us by Los Angeles County.
