A Message from the President

It is with great honor and privilege that I welcome you to our LABI College website. Since 1926, our students along with our world class faculty, have provided the combination of elements that has secured our past success and paved the way in providing the very best in Christian higher education. I believe that our faith, values, mission, Christ-focused curriculum and faculty members are major contributors to this success.

Our graduates, and those that have been with LABI for many years, have reached and transformed millions of lives and made significant research and scholarly impact across the globe. Dr. Nicky Cruz, Dr. Jesse Miranda, Julie & Sonny Arguinzoni, Dr. Issac Canales, Dr. Grace Morales-Scott, Dr. Sergio Navarette, and countless others have helped to advance our shared LABI mission.

A licensed and ordained minister for over a dozen years, I have worked in serving and providing a message of hope to the poor and homeless within our communities. I hold a doctorate in clinical psychology from Washington State University, pre-doctoral internship at UCLA and post-doctoral experience at Cornell University. I have served in college and university teaching and leadership positions for over twenty years. I am also a registered consultant with the American Psychological Association, the U.S. Department of Education, and the U.S. Department of Justice, including scoring and reviewing federal grants for Hispanic Serving Institutions.

At LABI, we have tremendous responsibility and opportunity as we equip the Saints for service and ministry. Our leadership team recently and collaboratively established our core operational value statement, a statement that reflects our community work ethic and commonality as a body of believers (see below).

“As a body of believers motivated by hope and purpose, we move and operate with excellence, transparency and innovation.”

Thank you again for visiting our website and for considering LABI as a place to study, to live and/or to work. As your schedules permit, I look forward to meeting and speaking with you as you consider the possibility of partnering with us. When we meet, I would cherish the opportunity to sit with you to discuss and explore your dreams, hopes and future.

Blessings,

Marty Harris, PhD.
