Yvette Robles appointed as new Dean of Academic Affairs for LABI College

It is with great joy and honor that we announce the appointment of Yvette Robles as Dean of Academic Affairs. Over the past five years, Yvette has served in numerous roles including Director of the Women’s Leadership Institute, Dean of Student Life, Associate Academic Dean and Registrar. Yvette is a graduate of Bethany University of the Assemblies of God, as well as a master’s recipient in leadership management from the University of La Verne. During our most recent ABHE site visit leading to our initial accreditation, Yvette was mentioned, commended, and honored by most of the ABHE site evaluation team for her leadership, organization, and dedication to LABI. Promoting women in leadership is something that is important for our administration. Having the opportunity to appoint this distinguished leader as the Dean of Academic Affairs for LABI, is a huge honor for our college. As you see, meet with, and speak with Dean Robles, please welcome her into this new role, and congratulate her on her continued dedication and service to LABI.

Nehemias Romero Appointed as Dean of Institutional Research & Accreditation

It also gives us great joy to announce that Nehemias Romero has been appointed as Dean of Institutional Research and Accreditation. Nehemias is a graduate of LABI, Vanguard University, and Fuller Theological Seminary. He is also actively pursuing his doctorate of education at USC. Within this new role, Nehemias will oversee all efforts in managing and maintaining our approval status with the California Department of Education (BPPE), National accreditation with the Association of Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), Federal Financial Aid...etc. Nehemias will assure that the college is following the standards and expectations of the state and accreditors. Nehemias will also continue to manage and undertake institutional research and assessment to support our continuous quality improvement of programs, services, and curriculum for LABI College. Nehemias has been instrumental in our past in achieving both approvals from the state, and accreditation with ABHE. He is also working closely with the president on a number of grant initiatives and the pursuit of a new Marriage and Family Therapy program that is currently seeking approvals from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS). Nehemias was nominated by Dr. Harris and is the recipient of this year's Assemblies of God (all Colleges and Universities) Educator of the Year for 2022 and will be recognized this year at both General Presbytery and AG Presidents meeting in Orlando (August 2022).
